I had it pierced with a ear gun it doesnt hurt at all but the backing keeps coming off because it’s swollen on one side of the piercing. How long will this take to go away? Is this norma?

Never ever ever get pierced with a gun! Especially something like your nose! Whoever did that was very very wrong. Guns are high impact and force the skin apart while, at the same time, forcing a foreign object into a place where there’s no room for it. These can be damaging in the earlobes, let alone anywhere else.

With that said, go to a piercer and see what they can do. You probably either have an infection or a minor blow out, or another type of problem. Find a piercer and call them immediately and go have them help you. DO NOT take out your piercing because if it is infected then your skin could close up and trap the infection.

In the meantime, clean your piercing with a salt soak. You have to use sea salt because it contains no iodine. DO NOT use table salt. You mix sea salt into a cup of warm water (i’ve heard 1/4 cup of salt per 8 oz of water, i use a small cup so i generally just cover the bottom of the cup in salt and fill the rest with water) and soak your piercing for 1-2 minutes. Do this no more than twice a day. Also make sure you’re cleaning your piercing NO MORE than twice a day!! (If you over clean it you could dry it out or kill the good bacteria that is there to heal). You can use Bactine (it’s anticeptic for wounds) or Dial soap.

NEVER use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on a piercing. This could dry out your piercing and kill the good bacteria.

Again, go see a piercer to get their help/advice/diagnosis of your problem, and stay away from the gun!
